Today marks the 25th anniversary of the original release of Stargate. I know SG-1 is what a lot of fans tend to enjoy most, but I've always really enjoyed the movie myself. GateWorld has a pretty cool article up in celebration: https://www.gateworld.net/news/2019/10/stargate-25-years-later-legacy/

Ha. I'm sure we all would! I honestly don't think we'll ever get to see them in any official lore though.

Lore-wise, I'm really happy to see the Nox getting some extra attention, even if it just second hand influence. I really like that!

I think I'm more interested in the Aturen as I don't recognize the race from the show so I assume it's something new!

I always enjoyed Universe and found it only got better and better. Time is one of my all time favorite episodes of Stargate over all and there's been so many smaller moments and episodes within Universe that I think are franchise highlights.

I know the game made an appearance at GenCon, but has Wyvern thought about taking the game to some Stargate specific events to run demos? Seems like the perfect events to market directly to Stargate fans and let them get a taste of the game. Cal Mah 3.0 is next May in the UK. There's also Gateway next June and Gatecon next August in the States.

I'd certainly be interested for the Stargate play.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned about the longevity of characters given how deadly the galaxy is but that's all part of the adventure I guess!

I would imagine we'll get some online groups setup through these boards too.

Yeah, I can see how that'd work quite well with Stargate. Things like expansions for specific races and etc. Was the ship's function expansion a single book? I struggle to imagine dedicated books for the single roles. lol

Yeah, I've really been enjoying the Alien game! I love that it actually has that cinematic mode to ease you into RP.

Very happy to hear about expansions! I'd be especially interested in being able to move around the history. I'm honestly not sure how that tends to work with RPGs, though.

I definitely agree with the successive shots to actually kill. Perhaps it should actually get harder to hit for the successive shots too. There should be a default maximum amount for the stun/1st shot effect to actually last too. As phantomSig suggests above, a roll or check of some form to recover earlier would be good too. I'm not sure I'd want to drop the killing though. It's too entrenched in the canon. Unless they're a variant that only stuns?

Hi all! Relatively new to RPGs (only just recently started playing with the Alien one) and very looking forward to giving Stargate a go. Been a fan of the series since it aired on SkyOne in the UK. I read all the novels, pick up some of the comics, loved the Big Finish audio dramas and love all the series' (Origins excluded and Infinity amuses me).
