  1. its, hick. The initial does work for Milky Way. All of the designations afterward were computer-generated blind so there is no orbit. The numerical initial does not indicate season. Can’t believe others liked your bullshit. The same suffix and literal final can share a prefix so the two designations that differ in the numerical initial can’t be different orbits of the same star as stargates can’t resolve that closely. The first designations only had five digits. There’re stated only 1000s of stargates rather than millions. The literal X was added I think as a filler for Abydos list addresses whereas the other literals for other sources, kind of like how initials denote textual criticism sources. The numerical initial refers to the chapter or column of the source. The suffix is randomly distributed, other than vanities like triples and 1492.
