Coming from a family with a history of military service, Sonya Grant barely made the height requirement.  She excelled as a marksman with several different weapons and her leadership skills made her a logical choice for an off world assignment.

Sonya is 23 years old, African-America with carefully groomed natural hair style that she keeps in a bun on the back of her head.  She has a sometimes abrasive personality due to her not being taken seriously and people mis-judging her intellegence because of her height.
