Kohloi grew up in a loving family that was part of a sylvan village on Atura.  The village is affiliated with the House of Life, and so Kohloi's upbringing was in the Noxian Pacifist tradition.  He still honors that tradition at Phoenix, although he is willing to use a tranquilizer gun to defend his teammates or a patient.  He has a younger brother, Kem, who rebelled against his upbringing and changed his affiliation to the House of Steel and Stone, before joining Phoenix shortly after Kohloi did.
