Max is an average guy: average height, average weight, unremarkable face with brown hair and brown eyes. One of those guys who blends into crowds because there's nothing that really catches your attention. Max tries very hard to remain unnoticed because what he is certainly above average at is separating people from their money. Forgeries and cons are his bread and butter. A well timed comment, the right documentation and Voila! Max is suddenly richer and his mark think they just bought a priceless relic. Max loves the challenge, the game of showing people exactly what they want to see even when deep down they know its too good to be true.
He wasn't looking for a career change he just needed out of a tight jam. Turns out if you stay in the business long enough someone you've pissed off eventually catches up to you and they aren't looking to talk things out. Max needed out fast. Which is why when an opportunity for one last job showed up he didn't look too closely. Just help some guy find an ancient sculpture and Max would have enough money to disappear for a few years. He wouldn't even have to forge this one; he knew enough fences to track down a legitimate piece once in awhile.
The job went south. He and his employer got ambushed by some strange guys with even stranger weapons. It ended with the pair of them on the run. Max injured and the client dying. The only way to keep from dying himself was to be host to the Tok'ra Spy, Lassep, inside the dying man. He got to live and escape but now he's got a roomate inside his own head and a new occupation.
It's not all bad. Turns out con men make decent spies too and the work is never boring. Half of the fun was testing his luck and wits which now Max has plenty of opportunities to do both.
