Grokken
Mixing in a little pulp steampunk with Stargate. Sound awesome or just meh?

millard_audene
I had been working on a D&D campaign to run for my nephews, that utilized a magic-based "interdimensional ring" that was essentially a stargate. It never got off the ground, due to a mix of them not being willing to put their phones down and covid. But the DHD utilized magical crystals created through extensive rituals, and the network was a handful of worlds, rather than spanning a universe. The idea was to have them pursue the big bad to other worlds, and each time they were in hands reach of defeating him, he escaped, only to use the gate to go to another world. It would allow me to do homebrew on a much larger scale while integrating known D&D world settings. Throwing in a Steampunk world, or Spelljammer, I think would work very well with this concept.
