SG1fanatic9
I saw how it has it so you get a disadvantage for every use. I think something similar to the madness condition that D&D uses might be a better fit. They usually make the user go crazy the more they use it so why not do the same with the PC. YourWightKnight
It's only from sustained use though. To be honest I can't imagine what kind of game some GM is running that requires sustained use of a Sarcophagus. Personally I feel like this isn't something that should be dealt with through mechanics anyway so much as through roleplay but I think that about quite a lot of things though. SG1fanatic9
Long term effects are from sustained use. With the mechanics that I'm talking about you could have an effect that lasts just a few minutes.
YourWightKnight
Canonically I don't think there are any short term issues with it's use though.
Deriachai
Feeling really good, and wanting to use it more are the only canonical short term effects from a single use. Ala - riding the dragon
Flight Lieutenant Burley
Yeah occasional use would be ok but repeated use messes with your head. I remember Jacob saying that's why Tok'ra don't use them.
SG1fanatic9
If it was just Long term effects then the Tok'ra would use them under dire circumstances yet they don't. So there has to be some short term effects that haven't been shown on the show.
1001100x02
They're ridiculously hard to steal and transport would probably be reason enough to not get one on top of the behavioural modification
